Information is important in every field, but it is even more valuable in industry<\/strong>, where knowledge is essential for the development of research and business activities<\/strong>, including patents, marketing, and manufacturing.<\/p>\n

In this environment, there is a strong need for information that is accurate, verified, timely, and organized into well-structured documents, ideally supported by a clear and appealing presentation. The results must be immediately usable by both specialists and non-specialists in their daily work.<\/p>\n

The advent of the Internet and the widespread use of digital technologies have profoundly changed the way people communicate and access knowledge. While access to information has become easier than ever, the growing volume of available data has often proven to be redundant, irrelevant, or of poor quality<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This context has led to the emergence and growth of information entrepreneurs<\/strong>, independent information professionals commonly known as information brokers<\/strong> (although this term does not fully capture the complexity of their work).<\/p>\n

Information brokers are professionals who use their expertise and skills to find, manage, analyze, and communicate information<\/strong> according to the specific requirements agreed upon with their clients. Their role goes far beyond simply delivering documents and data. They provide specialized technical expertise and significant added value through the selection, evaluation, and reorganization of information into a format tailored to the client’s needs.<\/p>\n

An information broker is therefore not simply a librarian or a documentalist<\/strong>, whether employed or freelance. Information brokers use a much broader range of sources, including corporate data and the extensive body of gray literature available online. More importantly, they add value by applying a human analytical filter<\/strong> to the information they collect and process.<\/p>\n

Information brokers are not generalists. Because they must be able to identify and select the most relevant information, they need specialized knowledge within the technical sector in which they operate, whether it is healthcare, finance and economics, market research, chemistry and industry, intellectual property, or other specialized fields.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
